 Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB), belongs to seismic isolation bearing. It is composed of special rubber with excellent damping attribute, sandwiched together with layers of steel. Damping is an influence within or upon an oscillatory system that has the effect of reducing, restricting or preventing its oscillations. Thus, bridge bearing made of LRB has excellent vibration reduction ability. Available with excellent flexibility and high restoring ability,LRB can absorb some input energy of the earthquake before the energy is transmitted to the substructure and can be restored after the earthquake.

Application:

Working principle

During earthquake, the vibration from various directions will impact fixed base building and results in deformation and building or bridge damages. The LNR is improved through high damping material, which the damping ratio can approach to 15% to 18%.
When the earthquake comes, the high damping rubber bearing will increase the horizontal displacement through rubber shear deformation and reduce friction coefficient. The large displacement can weaken the vibration from all direction and reduce the damage of building and bridges.
