High Damping seismic isolation bearing
This kind of product is comprised of high-damping rubber & plate connected with bolts.
It is used under 8 degrees of seismic intensity in highways and municipal bridges. Products comply with: JT/T 842-2012 High damping seismic isolation rubber bearing for highway bridges& GB20688.2-2006 Elastomeric seismic protection isolators for bridges, Known as HDR, has very similar appearance to lead rubber bearings, but they are totally different in nature. High damping rubber bearing is composed of special rubber with excellent damping attribute, sandwiched together with layers of steel without any lead plugs.
Working principle
During earthquake, the vibration from various directions will impact fixed base building and results in deformation and building or bridge damages. The high damping bearing pad is improved through high damping material, which the damping ratio can approach to 15% to 18%.
When the earthquake comes, the high damping rubber bearing will increase the horizontal displacement through rubber shear deformation and reduce friction coefficient. The large displacement can weaken the vibration from all direction and reduce the damage of building and bridges.
